Eric C. Sills was appointed as Chief of Police of the Soledad Police Department on February 22, 2010. Prior to joining the City of Soledad, the Chief worked for 27 ½ years at the San José Police Department. Throughout his law enforcement career, Chief Sills has held a number of specialized assignments:

Chief Sills earned a Master of International Management Degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona, a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Business Minor from San José State University and graduated from the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Chief has been employed as a part-time Adjunct Professor in the Justice Studies Department at San José State University since 1997. He currently instructs “Principles of Investigation” and “Police and Society.”
